United Nations Day is celebrated internationally on
October 24th for the purpose of informing the people of the world
as to the aims, goals, and achievements of the UN. It commemorates
the origin of the United Nations Organization on October 24, 1945
when the UN Charter was ratified by almost all permanent members
of the Security Council. UN Day is celebrated in various
countries and includes a show of cultural performances and a food
fair with food from all over the world.
