U.S. Marine Corps Birthday

November 10th

About U.S. Marine Corps Birthday

The United States Marine Corps Birthday is celebrated every year on November 10th by Marines and veterans all over the world. Every year, the Marine Corps celebrates on November 10th (the official founding date of the Continental Marines in 1775) to honor and celebrate the brave men and women, past and present, who defend our country as U.S. Marines. The birthday is celebrated with a formal Birthday Ball with a cake cutting ceremony where the first peice of cake goes to the oldest Marine present and the second peice goes to the youngest. The first formal Birthday Ball took place in Philadelphia in 1925.

Thanks to Roger and Pamela for letting us know the significance and importance of the event for Marines and say it is "one of the most important holidays in the military and celebrated very religiously by anyone that has ever been a Marine."

Happy Birthday Marines!
