Holidays & Observances in Albania
Albania is a diverse country on the Adriatic Sea next to Greece. Islam is the most prevalent religion in Albania, but there is a large Orthodox Christian community as well. Islamic holidays and Orthodox holidays are both an important part of the culture. Because Albania is located in Europe, it also celebrates a few western holidays such as New Year’s Day and Labor Day. They also celebrate Mother Teresa, who was born to Albanian parents.
