Holidays & Observances in Jordan
Jordan is a country in the Middle East. As a relatively new country, cultural elements and holiday traditions are still being developed. Jordan is one of the few countries run by a constitutional Monarch, though it is moving more towards democracy. Holidays to celebrate the birthdays of monarchs are some of the most popular secular holidays. Religion is very important to Jordanians. Most of the people are Islamic, and Islamic traditions affect the way things are done in every aspect of Jordanian life. Islamic holidays are probably the most widely celebrated.
