Congo (Dem Rep)
Holidays & Observances in The Democratic Republic of the Congo (aka Brazzaville)
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (aka Brazzaville) is a country located in Central Africa. It is made up of over two hundred different tribes with different cultures and languages, though many of them follow Christianity. Kimbanguism is a branch of Christianity that is often mixed with indigenous beliefs and is practiced by many people around the country. Recent civil unrest and genocide has lead the Democratic Republic of the Congo to be one of the poorest countries in the world, and therefore holiday celebrations have been largely muted in recent times.
