Pledge of Allegiance Day celebrates the pledge to the US flag, which is memorized and spoken by people at school and at many events such as athletic competitions throughout the country. The pledge was officially adopted by the congress on December 28, 1945, so Pledge of Allegiance Day celebrates the anniversary of its adoption.
