Social Security Day is August 14th

Social Security Day celebrates the signing of the Social Security Act in the U.S. on August 14, 1935. The Social Security Act helps retired and disabled people have some form of income if they can no longer work. The passing of this act has helped reduce the rate of poverty for elderly and disabled individuals.
