Independence Day is an annual holiday celebrated in countries around the world commemorating the anniversary of the nation's independence. Each country has it's own reason to celebrate and many are celebrated similarly under other names such as National Day, Foundation Day, Statehood Day or name the day for their country.
Shout of Dolores is a holiday celebrated on the day prior to Independence Day. It celebrates the first cry for independence believed to be made by independence leader Miguel Hidalgo in the town of Dolores. On the night of September 15th, the president traditionally rings a bell in Mexico City to represent the cry for independence and to kick off the Independence Day festivities.
