Victoria is a holiday celebrating the birthday of beloved British monarch, Queen Victoria. Due to the queen’s popularity in early colonial times, Victoria Day has been traditionally celebrated in Canada for a long time. It is celebrated all across the country except in Quebec, where National Patriot’s Day is celebrated in its place. In most provinces, people get the day off work and celebrate the holiday enthusiastically. Though the Canadian celebration is the most vibrant, several other former British Colonies celebrate a version of this day as well.
