Victory Celebrations in France
There are many parades and church services held on May 8th in order to commemorate Victory in Europe Day. Most businesses, schools, and stores will be closed or close early in order to allow everyone time to spend the day with family and friends. There is a special ceremony in Paris where the French President and Veterans attend a military parade at the tomb of the unknown soldier where a wreath is laid and a speech of remembrance is given.
