Annunciation Day holiday is celebrated in Greece with street processions and marching bands. The eating of bakaliaros skordalia, a fried salted cod with garlic sauce made of potato and olive oil is a common food to celebrate the day.
Greek Independence Day is also on this day and celebrations coincide.
