In Guatemala, New Years Day is for resting from the fun and energetic New Year’s Eve celebrations. However, many people are woken up in the morning to people still lighting fireworks that they didn't get to light the night before. The rest of the day, however, is just a regular day with the exception that schools and businesses are closed.
