Holidays & Observances in Afghanistan
Afghanistan is a Middle Eastern country with much conflict. Most of the holidays celebrated in Afghanistan are Muslim holidays, in fact many non-Muslim holidays were banned during Taliban rule. Today, some of those holidays are celebrated once more. This includes holidays of independence and remembrance along with the New Year’s celebration of Navruz, celebrated on March 21st by many Islamic countries.
