Holidays & Observances in San Marino

San Marino is a small European country completely surrounded by Italy. It is widely considered to be the oldest republic in the world, having maintained its independence throughout every world conflict since its founding in 301. Culturally it is very similar to Italy. Its people speak Italian, eat Italian food, practice Roman Catholicism, and celebrate many of the same holidays as the Italians. Christian holidays are the most important and are celebrated widely across the country.
