Holidays & Observances in Spain

Spain is a country in Western Europe. Its culture is unique amongst the European countries because it has been touched by so many other cultures including the Romans and Muslim groups. Though Spain has a very small Muslim population today, Islam has had about as much influence on Spain’s culture as Christianity. This is cleat in much of the architecture, where Islamic influence is evident. Today it is a predominantly Roman Catholic country, though secularism is on the rise. Christian holidays are very important and are celebrated widely across the country by both the religious and the non-religious.
