Holy Saturday

Child reading the bible

Holy Saturday is a Christian holiday that is celebrated on the day before Easter. It commemorates the day that Jesus Christ spent lying in his tomb prior to his resurrection. This is the last day of the Holy Week and the last day of Lent. Baptisms are common on Holy Saturday.

Tradition observance of this holiday lasts until dusk, when an Easter Vigil service is held at many churches, and the celebration of Easter begins.
