This is a day solely dedicated to embracing and of course eating chocolate-covered cherries. Though normally considered a summer fruit, encasing cherries in chocolate can help preserve them in the winter. Thus allowing us to have this super sweet holiday!
Sometime in the 1700’s England, cherries were encased in chocolate with a little cordial liqueur.
