Curry is used to mean ‘cooked with herbs and spices’, but refers to the curry leaf tree, Murraya koenigii. This tree is native to the Indian subcontinent, yet also grows in Thailand and Sri Lanka, as it likes climates about 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Despite the curry trees origins, also called sweet neem, curry dishes are native to many different countries.
Some of the most popular curry dishes are Indian, Thai, Japanese, Nepali, or Jamaican.
