What happens on the third of January, April, July and October? That's right! It's Get-to-know-your-customer day! This important day is one very special not only to you busy shoppers, but also to those busy bodied businesses!
This is a quarterly reminder to business owners to keep their customers in mind. Take some time to learn what your customers are like and what you can do to better meet their needs. If you have a large business you can do this by sending your customers a survey to gage their opinions. If you are a smaller business simply engage with your customers individually to make sure they know you care.
For as long as mankind has been around, businesses have been a point of success and liveliness in our communities. Though, where would any of these businesses be without their customers? Businesses without a doubt are a community effort, so taking time out to interact with your customers is a great idea. Not only are you growing your business through networking with your public, but you are also making new friends!
Through just a simple Q&A with your customers and getting to know that regular from down the block, you increase your chances of them going to their friends and family to come to your friendly store. Not only are you brightening the day of someone else, you are also expanding your community! With businesses interacting with the patrons of their stores, you are helping build a friendly environment for your neighborhood and city.
So go ahead and give the regular more than the "that'll be 5.99." Instead, ask them what they do for a living. You might be surprised by what you find out! They could be a super ninja robot assassin, and you'd be one of the first people to ever find out.
