In 2016, Evolution Fresh made January 26th National Green Juice Day to integrate health into your New Year’s resolutions. Since 1995, this company has believed in raw, cold-pressed juices. More recently, the green-juice craze has grown significantly and Starbucks purchased the company in 2011. But don’t fret, Green Juice Day isn’t specific to one brand; you can even press your own!
Green juices are a great way to integrate vegetables, vitamins, and other nutrients into your diet. If you don’t like salad, you’ll probably enjoy a juice more, and it will still have the same amount of leafy greens. Juices are an enjoyable way to consume vegetables you might not otherwise want to, but don’t stray from their purpose: health. A quick caution: don’t buy/make juices overloaded with sugar. Yes, fruits have natural sugars. However, if your juice has pineapples, strawberries, mangoes, and bananas, the sugar quantity outweighs the vegetables’ benefits. Did you know 1 mango contains 46 grams of sugar? That’s more than a whole can of coke!
