Imagine Peace Day is December 8

Imagine Peace Day is a day to remember John Lennon and his message of peace and unity. Inspired by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, the date is in memoriam of John Lennon on the date of his death in 1980 and is a day to come together in unity and celebrate peace and to Imagine a world as the song Imagine (written by both John and Yoko) portrays. This day was created by the Holiday Visionary Team as an Inspiration Holiday 

John Lennon was one of the greatest musician and songwriters of all time. Born in Liverpool, England in 1940, he became famous as a member of the Beatles, and later as a solo artist. Lennon was known for his political activism and for his outspoken views on peace and social justice. 

John Lennon's wife Yoko Ono, also a peace activist has shared tender stories and love letters to John and lights a candle every year on December 8th in remembrance of her beloved and the light he brought to the world.

Let’s not waste the lives of those we have lost. Let’s, together, make
the world a place of love and joy and not a place of fear and anger.
This day of John’s passing has become more and more important for so
many people around the world as the day to remember his message of Peace
and Love and to do what each of us can to work on healing this planet we
cherish.

Let’s: Think Peace, Act Peace, and Spread Peace.
John worked for it all his life.
He said, “There’s no problems, only solutions.”

Remember, we are all together.
We can do it, we must.

How to Celebrate Imagine Peace Day

• Honor John & Yoko's message of peace and spread the message by sharing on social media and showing love
• Listen to John singing Imagine and imagine! As Yoko has said, we all are capable of imagining even though our ways of getting to the solution may differ. 
• Light a candle for the light John shined on the world. 
• Attend a local ceremony or gathering honoring John Lennon
• Be vocal about gun control and vote to make a difference
• Show love and be loving and peaceful toward everyone. 
• Be the change for love and peace by living in the spirit of 

On December 8, remember John Lennon and celebrate Imagine Peace Day in the spirit of John and Yoko's beautiful dreams of love, harmony, understanding and peace.
