Kite Flying Day is a day to get out of the house and go fly kites with your loved ones. It may seem like February is much too cold of a month to be outside flying kites, but in many warmer climates this is actually the perfect time for it. If the weather permits this is a great excuse to be outside after month of staying in. If it’s too cold where you live to fly kites right now you can plan for a kite flying outing in the future. Buy or make some awesome kites and get ready for outing that both adults and kids will love.
Is it a bird? A plane? Nope, it's a kite!
Happy kite flying day! To all of my excited kite lovers this is the day that we can express our joy and love for kites. On February 8th, we observe this day to go out with friends and family to enjoy the day with our favored kite.
Millions if not billions of people fly kites all over the world. There are various kinds of kites with different forms, shapes, art, and of course history. Kites have been a part of our lives for a very long time, to be exact - since 545 AD. Since then, 8 types of kites have been invented and used in the world, giving us the chance to use a historical toy used since the ancient times of our existence! Kites have been used for the enjoyment of others at parks, during picnics, and for the simple enjoyment of making something fly with the wind. There's even a world Guinness record for the highest altitude for flying a kite, having been about 16,009 ft!
Flying kites has given the world a chance to enjoy the ability to make something fly. That enjoyment of flying has given mankind many of the ideas that we have in today's world, from airplanes to creating electricity! Without it, our world wouldn't be where it is now so let's give our thanks for the toy that has shaped our world one kite at a time.
