Sometimes letting it go can be as simple as deciding not to care any more but a lot of the time it requires a little bit more. Maybe you need some kind of closure. You can achieve this by having a healthy conversation with another person involved in your struggle or doing some kind of ritual like getting rid of items from the past that remind you of old troubles. Maybe it would help you to talk to someone you trust like a therapist or a good friend.
