Happy Periodic Table Day! Every February 7th, we observe the national holiday Periodic Table Day. On this day we celebrate the good of the periodic table that allows us to make what we have in today's society.
In 1896, a Russian chemist by the name of Dimitri Mendeleev started the development of the periodic table, arranging chemical elements by atomic mass. He predicted the discovery of other elements, and left spaces open in his periodic table for them. His prediction was spot on. Over the course of years gone by, new elements were discovered giving chemists a new scope of elements to work with. To this very day, the periodic table is still growing!
The periodic table has allowed our society to develop even further over the years, getting us to leagues that have been able to grant us a successful chance to create more for our everyday lives. Without it, our lives would be very different.
