Are you single and living your best life? Being single is so underrated when it can be the most exhilarating time of your life! Satisfied Staying Single Day is the perfect holiday to celebrate what you already do best! You can do what you want to do, when you want to do it, without anyone telling you otherwise. Want to go to that music festival in Europe? Book the ticket. Want to get the new shoes you saw at Nordstrom? Buy it. Want to go to happy hour after work with your girlfriends? Do it. The best part about being single is having no one to answer to or to get mad at you. You are free to live unapologetically.
History of Satisfied Staying Single Day
Satisfied Staying Single Day was invented by Thomas and Ruth Roy to recognize and celebrate all the singles who are out there living life and enjoying it. The truth is, being single has a negative stigma around it. People in relationships look at single people as someone to feel sorry for, someone to pity, and they try to help them out. This can be with inspirational messages like, “don’t worry sweetheart, you’ll find someone”, or trying to set you up on blind dates. They don’t realize that you may want to be single, that you enjoy being single. Satisfied Staying Single Day is the perfect opportunity to show your friends and family that you love being single and that you are choosing this lifestyle on purpose because you want to.
How to Celebrate Satisfied Staying Single Day
Treat yourself. Spend the day doing something you love or pampering yourself. That can mean taking yourself to a nice lunch or dinner, going shopping, to the movies, or taking yourself to the beauty salon for a new hair cut/style, a massage or a mani/pedi. If you want to get crazy, do it all!
Take some of your friends in relationships out and about. Show them how you can enjoy your day doing some of your favorite things without having to worry about anyone else. Take them out at night and show you are still out there having fun and enjoying life instead of sitting on the couch watching TV.
Gather with your single friends and celebrate together. Book a staycation at a hotel and celebrate by lounging by the pool sipping cocktails and getting massages. Or take them out on a night on the town with dinner and drinks to celebrate that single life.
We spend so much time celebrating relationships that we often forget or leave out our single friends. This holiday can shed light on those that are happily single and show everyone that we don’t need to be in a relationship to be happy. This holiday unites everyone, relationship or single, and proves that we are all out here finding our happiness in our own ways and that is totally okay.
“Being single is not a status. It’s a time in your life when you get to be happy and enjoy yourself without depending on someone else”
