These days, pretty much everything is all about going fast. We rush everywhere and sometimes we forget to just slow down and take some time to enjoy the simple things. Art is the kind of thing that needs time to be fully experienced. Passing it quickly by means that you miss all the intricate little details and much of the artist’s intent. Only by taking your time to really let the artwork surround you can you truly learn from it. April 9th is Slow Art Day. You can celebrate this holiday by visiting local art museums and spending significant time with the art. Many people aim to spend at least ten minutes in front of individual pieces.
