World AIDS Day is a Worldwide observance that is was the first ever global health day. Established by the World Health Organization, World AIDS Day is observed by all UN Member States on 1st December every year since 1988. This international day is dedicated to bringing worldwide awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and commemorating those who have died of the disease.
The red ribbon has become the global symbol for education, awareness and support of fighting AIDS. This years campaign is Rock the Ribbon to continue to build on the progress to fight AIDS. The goal is to eliminate AIDS by 2030.
