World Heart Day is a holiday dedicated to reducing cardiovascular disease and making the world a more heart healthy place to live. Heart disease is the leading cause of death all around the world, but as a cause of premature death it is avoidable if people take the right precautions. This means eliminating risk factors from your life such as smoking, overuse of alcohol, unhealthy eating, and inactivity. If you take these things out of your life you are much more likely to have a healthy heart. This holiday takes place on the last Sunday in September.
