World Mental Health Day is a holiday sponsored by the World Health Organization to remind people that mental health is just as important as physical health. It’s easy to understand physical illness and how they affect people’s lives because their symptoms are things that we can see. The effects of mental illness is much harder to physically see, and therefore it’s easy for people to ignore them. But mental health issues are real problems that affect real people. Mental helath needs to have understanding and serious effort put into it just as much as physical health if we can ever hope to have a truly healthy population.
