World Pangolin Day is observed on the 3rd Saturday in February. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about these unique mammals whose numbers are declining in Asia and Africa and to support the wildlife conservation efforts to save these animals.
All About Pangolins
Pangolins are amazing creatures that are unfortunately threatened with extinction. There are eight species of pangolin, four in Asia and four in Africa. All eight species are considered threatened with extinction due to poaching and habitat loss.
In China and Vietnam, pangolin scales are used in traditional medicine. Pangolin meat is also considered a delicacy in some countries. More than one million pangolins have been killed in the past decade. If we do not protect them now, these gentle creatures could be wiped out within our lifetime.
Please share the love for pangolins by sharing this post and tagging your friends!
Let's make the world a better place for these fascinating creatures together!
