Melanoma Monday is a holiday that helps raise awareness about Melanoma and other skin cancers. Most skin cancers are easily treatable when they are found early, and they are more easy to detect than other cancers. It is important to do occasional self exams to check your skin for suspicious spots. Melanoma Monday encourages people to do just that. It also aims to educate people about finding someone who “have your back” and can examine your skin in the places you can’t see. The holiday takes place on the first Monday in May.
