April 23 is Spanish Language Day, a day designated by the United Nations to bring language and cultural awareness worldwide. The date selected is the anniversary of the death of the great genius of Spanish letters, Miguel de Cervantes.
The day was established by the UN in celebration of multilingualism, cultural diversity and to maintain the equality of all six official languages of the UN (English, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and French).
Every year on this day, various events and activities are organized in order to celebrate the Spanish language. These may include cultural events, concerts, lectures, exhibitions, cuisines, films and more. This is a great opportunity for people to learn more about the Spanish language and to celebrate its rich history and culture.
Feliz dia del idioma español (Happy Spanish Language Day)
